‘We’re not West Ham anymore ,’ fucking right we’re not, we will have to start singing this back to the away fans if we keep beating or not losing to the top teams

You are miss quoting me.

I never said it was best I said it was as good as.

Maybe OTT but it was loud and the blokes round me were manic.

.. as for 97 years ... Ha Ha Ha Ha

Liverpool could well be decent as long as they don’t tear us a new one. Their fans will certainly be noisy.

It was an OK atmosphere yesterday. No more than that. Hopefully Liverpool in night match will be one of the good ones.

Dan.... I think it was in response to 1964's quote of yesterday being the best atmosphere he had known in 97 years of following us...

Re: RIP West Ham
So someone enjoyed the game yesterday but he's wrong because it wasn't as good as the two most atmospheric games post Lyall?

Righto.

Re: RIP West Ham
It'll never be the same as the BG - but - if it means that we have a team playing like we are at the moment, with a manager who is better than we've had for fkn years + if the money that combination generates attracts class players to improve us, then I'll say out with the old, in with the new & I never thought I'd say that about the LS.

That’s still my all time ever favourite atmosphere and match at the Boleyn, despite getting soaked on the Suth Bank.

I've said it before but for me it's those half and half friendship/matchday scarves. Why would any, real West Ham supporter/fan wear a scarf with Arsenal on one side complete with a picture of one of their players.

If anybody sat next to me with one I'd question who they were supporting.

Comma,

Also, that was at a time when men were men and mainly working class.

Now everyone's too busy taking selfies and looking at instagram every two seconds.

All these metrosexuals, i dont know!

That reminds me, where did i put my bottle of St Tropez down..

Nothing since compares to the atmosphere that I experienced back in the day when we had three sides standing at the BG and we played games under lights like Eintracht Frankfurt or the like.

Re: RIP West Ham
Of course, it will never be as good as Upton Park, for nostalgic reasons and not being as close to the pitch.

But 60 odd thousand fans going fucking mental in an enclosed arena, is going to sound fucking good.

Re: RIP West Ham
For two weeks running now we’ve had opposition supporters singing ‘You’re not West Ham anymore’ at us (I know we have heard it before) but if it means not regularly losing to lower league or ‘top 6’ teams, as we have often done in the past then that is okay with me.

If it also meant moving from our lopsided two up, two down in East Ham to our swanky new stadium in our original West Ham Metropolitan Borough roots, which can now hold 60,000, instead of 35,000, then that is also okay with me.

Now, where do I get those pancakes and crepes from (and do they come with blueberry sauce?) I fancy some of those.

Re: RIP West Ham
It has improved somewhat, but unless we play a rival in a cup/league night game (che or spurs the other season) its still nowhere near the BG for me, and never will be

Re: RIP West Ham
The atmosphere didn't seem that good on the stream i watched, i must say.

I went to the game where Lanzini scored the winner against Tottenham & the cup game against Chelsea. Both were very loud with a great atmosphere.

It doesnt help when the game is a 12:30am kick off, and Arsenal are now a glorified Fulham. Mainly anoraks, tourists and hipsters.

I think i preferred it when they used to be mouthy, lary fuckers like Tottenham.

Re: RIP West Ham
As good as v man utd last game as the BG? As good as Ipswich in the play offs?

It was bloody noisy at times but you're right, the atmosphere wasn't as good as the the games you've mentioned at the BG.

I tell you what though, with the numbers over there, (even taking into account the day trippers/tourists) one day there will be an atmosphere that will match, if not surpass, any at the BG.

Depends on how you judge it.

Noise? - The crowd was very loud at one point, louder than UP.

Surrounding supporters? There's a fantastic bunch around us, best I've ever been with
